Dr Sylvia Taylor-Goh
Sylvia is a specialist speech and language therapist with extensive experience across clinical practice, education, research, and leadership. She supports young people and adults with complex neurological conditions, particularly acquired brain injury, working across NHS, university, not-for-profit, and independent settings.
A long-standing contributor to national clinical standards and guidelines, she maintains active involvement with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. Sylvia holds a PhD in Clinical Decision Making from King's College London and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Her leadership roles include Director of Research at Sensory Integration Education. She is also on the steering group of the Vestibular Interdisciplinary Working Group, and Chair of the Sensory Integration SLT Clinical Excellence Network.

Grounded in evidence, shaped by experience
Sylvia has held clinical, leadership, and research roles within the NHS and has led national projects to improve practice standards. She led on the development of national Clinical Guidelines for the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, combining clinical knowledge with academic depth.
She has been involved in higher education throughout most of her career, having taught and supervised at City, University of London for over a decade, and collaborated with Ulster and Sheffield Hallam Universities through her academic leadership roles. Known for her clear, thoughtful contributions, Sylvia is regularly invited to share her expertise at conferences in the UK and internationally.

A respected leader in her field, Sylvia brings credibility, vision, and a values-driven approach to everything she does. Through her work in education, policy, and professional development, she helps shape practice, foster innovation, and champion meaningful, high-quality therapy. Her national leadership has included serving as Deputy Chair of the RCSLT Professional Practice and Policy Committee.
